Accessibility Statement

The Christian Mutuality (CM) strives to make its digital applications accessible to everyone, in accordance with European Directive 2019/882 on the accessibility of products and services (European Accessibility Act).

Scope of this statement

This accessibility statement applies to the Dutch-language public website of CM: www.cm.be, and its translated parts into English: www.cm.be/en. It does not apply to external applications or websites linked to from this site, nor to the portal My CM or the mobile application of CM.

Compliance Status

This website is partly compliant with the European standard EN 301 549. This means that some parts do not yet fully meet the stated accessibility requirements.

Inaccessible content

The following elements of the website are currently not fully accessible:

  • Some (complex) images do not have a correct alternative description.
  • Not all videos contain subtitles or audio description. The video player does not allow adjustments to subtitles and keyboard shortcuts can be activated inadvertently via voice commands.
  • Lists and tables are not always semantically correct.
  • Some forms lack autocomplete attributes, making autofill difficult.
  • Infographics and other visual elements do not always meet the required contrast ratios.
  • Error messages in forms do not always provide clear instructions on how to correct errors.
  • Certain interface components are not named or read correctly by screen readers (missing role, status, or name).
  • Chat messages are not automatically read out by screen readers.
  • PDF files on the website do not always meet accessibility criteria. If you experience problems, you can contact us for an accessible alternative.
  • Some pages contain empty headings or lack a clear page title.
  • The operation of buttons, forms and navigation is not always fully usable with the keyboard or assistive technologies.

Improvement measures

CM is committed to addressing these accessibility issues structurally. The website will be adjusted step by step and supplemented with correctly accessible content and functionalities.

Currently, an external accessibility audit is being conducted by a certified IAAP web accessibility specialist. Based on the results, a concrete action plan will be drawn up.
