Gluten-free and special food, group guidance for obesity and eating disorders or nutritional and diet advice. When it comes to food, you can get a refund at CM for various reasons.
Gluten-free and special food
Some patients are entitled to 38 euros per month as reimbursement for the costs of gluten-free or special nutrition.
What should you do?
- Download the application form.
- Contact the advising doctor of your health fund
- the completed application form;
- a medical report (from a gastroenterologist, dermatologist, internist or pediatrician) with the results of the blood test and the intestinal biopsy.
- The agreement is valid for two years. You can then request an extension using the application form for extension of reimbursement for celiac disease or dermatitis herpetiformis.

- Contact the advising doctor of your health fund
- the application form, completed by an internist, pediatrician or pneumologist;
- the result of the blood test.
- The agreement is valid for two years. You can then request an extension using the application form for extension of the refund for gluten/gliadin allergy or grain flour allergy.
If the advising doctor agrees, you will receive the refund automatically.
What are the conditions?
- You are being treated for one of the following conditions:
- celiac disease;
- dermatitis herpetiformis;
- gluten/gliadin allergy;
- grain flour allergy.
- You have permission from the advising doctor of your health fund.
Group guidance for obesity and eating disorders
For group guidance for obesity (overweight) or eating disorders (bulimia, anorexia, binge-eating, pica, rumination disorder, etc.) you will receive a one-time reimbursement of half the cost, with a maximum of 250 euros. CM members with increased compensation receive a one-off reimbursement of 75 percent of the cost price, with a maximum of 300 euros.
The refund is split into two parts:
- You will receive the first part after the start
- the second after termination of the guidance.
Important : this CM benefit is separate from the co-payment.
What should you do?
You don't have to do anything yourself. Your data is exchanged directly between the center or hospital and CM. The refund will be automatically transferred to your account.
What are the conditions?
- You are a CM member for the entire program.
- The therapy is a group program, in a center or general/university hospital, about obesity or a serious eating disorder by a multidisciplinary team with at least a nutritionist, a psychologist or doctor and a movement expert.
- You must have completed the program in full.
Nutrition and diet advice
CM reimburses 40 euros annually for nutrition and diet advice by a Riziv-approved dietitian in the form of consultations and/or online courses.
Important : there are no legal rates for consultations with a dietician, except for some diabetics or people following a care program. Therefore, agree in advance with your dietitian how much he or she will charge.
- Reimbursement of a maximum of 10 euros per consultation, with a maximum of 40 euros per calendar year.
- These can be both physical and digital consultations, individually or in groups, or a combination of these forms.
- Reimbursement of a maximum of 40 euros per calendar year.
- Applies to online courses with the main purpose of providing nutritional and dietary advice.
What should you do?
- Download the application form and have it completed by a Riziv-approved dietitian.
- Deliver the completed form (with yellow sticker) via the My CM app or a CM mailbox.
- The refund will be transferred to your account.
What are the conditions?
- You are a CM member.
- A Riziv-approved dietitian provides nutritional and dietary advice.
- Only one consultation per day is reimbursable.
- The reimbursement is limited to the actual fee paid per consultation.
- The reimbursement will only be granted to CM members who have completed a minimum of four consultations per process from January 1, 2023.
- A nutritional and dietary advice consultation, within two years of the previous consultation, serves as a continuation of the previous guidance process.
- You are a CM member.
- The refund is limited to the actual participation fee paid per course.
- The online course contains at least four modules, including at least one personal contact with the dietician or at least two group contacts with room to ask personal questions.
- The course was purchased on or after January 1, 2023.
Important : the refund does not apply to consultations:
- that are reimbursed by compulsory health insurance;
- that take place during a hospital admission;
- where the participant is not present or is not in online contact with the dietician.
