Night care
Are you an informal caregiver? Then your own night's sleep is sometimes not self-evident. Fortunately, there is such a thing as a night sitter. A sitter will come to your home to put you to sleep or you will stay in a residence for the night. CM reimburses part of the expenses.
A night starts at 10 p.m. at the latest and ends at 7 a.m. at the earliest. A sitting night lasts at least nine hours. CM will reimburse you half of the cost of night care, with a maximum of 15 euros per night.
- For night care until December 31, 2023, you will be reimbursed for up to 100 nights per year.
- For night care from January 1, 2024* you can be reimbursed up to 420 euros for day care , short stay and night care together.

Provide CM with the following documents
- or the invoice for night care;
- or a certificate (e.g. expense report) with a number of details:
- mention that it concerns care or babysitting during the night;
- your credentials;
- paid amount;
- amount of nights;
- the agency that provided the care/babysitter.
You do this via the My CM app or a CM mailbox .
Important : For night care organized by CM-oppas from January 1, 2024, reimbursement is automatic. You no longer have to provide invoices for this.
You will receive the refund
CM will deposit the amount of the refund into your account.
What are the conditions?
- You are a member of CM.
- The night care is provided by:
- home sitting service , recognized by the Flemish government;
- service for family care and additional home care , recognized by the Flemish government;
- palliative network , recognized by the Flemish government;
- recognized short-stay service offering night care;
- initiative for night care in a facility that meets the conditions for a short stay.
* Subject to approval by the Health Insurance Fund Control Service.
