Freezing
Freezing involves freezing eggs, sperm or ovarian tissue. Thanks to freezing, patients can still see their desire to have children come true after their treatment.
The collection and freezing are fully reimbursed if this is done in a hospital that has an agreement with the Riziv . A hospital with this agreement may not ask for supplements.
If the fertility material still needs to be stored after ten years, the hospital may charge the patient a maximum of 50 euros per year.
What are the conditions?
- The compulsory insurance only provides reimbursement for certain patients .
- The collection of eggs or ovarian tissue is done before the 38th birthday. Sperm is collected before the 45th birthday.
- The collection and freezing takes place in a hospital that has an agreement with the Riziv .
