Income for people with disabilities
People with disabilities face additional costs. Several measures help them offset these additional costs and the loss of income.
Income replacement benefit
Some people don't earn enough due to their disability. For them, there's an income replacement allowance. The amount varies depending on the family composition .

Integration allowance
If you lose your independence due to a disability, you may face additional costs to adapt to society. In that case, you may be eligible for an integration allowance. The amount varies depending on your level of independence and financial situation .

Personal financing
Through personal financing (PVF), people with disabilities receive a budget from the Flemish government with which they can organize their own care.
The care budget for people with disabilities is a Flemish government grant for people with disabilities and limited support needs. The care budget is €300 per month and can be used for home help, support, day care, or service vouchers.
Do you belong to a group eligible for the care budget for people with disabilities ? Your health insurance fund will contact you as soon as you are eligible. You cannot apply for this care budget yourself.
If you don't belong to one of these groups , you won't be eligible for a disability care budget.

Minors with disabilities can request personal assistants to assist them. They must be registered through an employment contract or requested through an organized service.
The Intersectoral Gateway examines the application. A multidisciplinary team (MDT), such as that of CM , helps to substantiate the application.

Adults with disabilities who require intensive care can apply for a personal budget to help them organize their care and support.
Conditions and more information are available from the Flemish Agency for Persons with Disabilities (VAPH) or www.vlaanderen.be . A multidisciplinary team (MDT), such as the CM team , can help you substantiate your application.
Benefits on personal income tax
People with disabilities or dependents of disabled people can benefit from tax advantages in various situations, such as additional tax-free amounts.

Care budgets
Are you in need of care , 66 years or older , and have a limited income ? Then you can apply for the care budget for seniors in need of care . The amount depends on the care you need and your family income. You do n't need to provide proof of expenditure . This allows you to choose which care and assistance you want to pay for.
Are you staying in a residential care center ? Then no medical assessment is performed. You will automatically be assigned a category 4 or 5 for the calculation of this care budget. The amount depends on your family income.
Are you in need of significant care? Then you may be eligible for the care budget for those with significant care needs . This amounts to €140 per month and can be used for non-medical expenses.
You are entitled to this budget if:
- you are a home care patient and have been recognized as requiring extensive care;
- you are staying in a residential care center;
- you have been admitted to a retirement home (RVT) or psychiatric care home (PVT).
Your age doesn't matter. Even if you're under 26 and don't yet pay health insurance premiums, you're eligible for this care budget. There's a separate arrangement for people with disabilities who have a personal budget.
